Building an inclusive and sustainable farming model to feed the world

GreenPath's approach rests on three key, complementary pillars that allow us to deliver the highest, quality produce to consumers.

1. promoting PERMACULTURE-BASED organic farming practices

GreenPath has designed a number of 'Permaculture for the Smallholder' programmes, such as the Guild to Go micro-ecosystem in the illustration.

Guilds are packages of complementary food crops, arranged in patterns that mimic nature. Such systems tap into the natural fertility that exists in any ecosystem, thereby eliminating the need for synthetic chemical fertilizers and pesticides that are expensive and unsustainable in the long-term.

All crops that GreenPath grows with farmers are high-nutrition, edible and marketable.

GreenPath Permaculture systems help our Partner Farmers to grow more food using less resources, helping them build economically and environmentally sustainable small-scale farming micro-businesses

GreenPath's Farmer Training Officers support Partner Farmers with fortnightly visits, training them in application of GreenPath permaculture systems on their farms.

Our unique Permaculture and Agroforestry Curriculum emphasizes long-term farm sustainability and crop quality while also maximizing yields. Our approaches also reduce and eventually eliminate the need for expensive external inputs, allowing farms to be self-sufficient and independent.

2. Managing FARMER SERVICE CENTRES (FSCS)

As Ethiopia's first organic certified fruit, vegetable & herb producer (with European Union Organic certification), we operate a professional organic supply chain to supply exotic, nutritious, organic-certified products to retailers and consumers.

Our brand is focused on communicating the benefits of fully organic, biodynamic products to consumers, and to promoting the farms and products of our Partner Farmers.

We work with retail partners who share our commitment to fresh, high-quality, nutritious, wholesome food, that is grown in the right way - both for the land and for the farmer.

We ensure full trace-ability and transparency standards across our entire operation, using QR codes on all production land/trees.
